Although commemorative painted and stained glass panels are generally associated with religious buildings they can find a place in the home.

Images with special memories can be incorporated in a door, window or as a hanging-panel for a special anniversary gift - such as the depiction of happy family homes, wisteria and sunflowers – effected by hand-painted detail, kiln-fired onto coloured glass.

I haven't made a christening panel yet – surely only a matter of time.

Attention genealogists and family historians!- if you would like to commemorate a particular family member or a significant event in family history, or a novel way to display a family tree – depict your interest in a painted leaded-glass panel.  – RAF fighter pilot perhaps.

I've been working long-term on a design for a memorial window panel to commemorate my second cousin W/O Jimmie Ives and his crew-mates, killed seventy years ago, shot down on a bombing operation in the Second World War.

Although intended to be specific to this particular crew, it may become a generic commemorative panel.

Follow progress on making the panel (essentially a spare time project) here.

'I wanted to let you know just how thrilled my parents were to receive your beautiful panel; it was a total surprise to them and they were absolutely delighted with it and rather in awe of your craftsmanship.

I am attaching a photo of them at the restaurant where we celebrated the event and where they opened the present.

At the moment, the panel does not have a permanent home as it is living in both France and England as my parents wanted to it be with them at both locations!

Once again, thank you so much for all you have done. It was a fantastic experience watching the creation of this beautiful piece of art.'
